A true steak classic! But dare I say the dish is somewhat a thief. The original "Oscar" dish was actually created in the 19th century and was served with veal, that's right not the traditional filet mignon we are all familiar with. Either way this dish has been considered royalty in the culinary world for many years and since the original version was named after the Swedish king Oscar II I would say its seat at the royal table has withstood the test of time.
