This is our almost daily breakfast smoothie in our house, it's beloved by adults and toddlers alike! You can use your favorite kind of milk here, I personally like to use unsweetened vanilla almond milk for this one. You can also definitely toss in a handful of spinach, half an avocado, protein powder or whatever else you like to add - this one is intentionally simple and can be used as a base for other additions. I've made this with both almond butter and peanut butter, and I'm quite confident it would be amazing with tahini as well if you can't use nuts.
I use frozen blueberries for this as my only source of "ice" - I find it has a much better flavor this way. If you are using fresh blueberries and need to add ice, it will work totally fine. You just may need to add a little bit more liquid to get it to blend to the right consistency.
Serves 2. Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Vegan.
Place all the ingredients in a high powered blender, starting with the frozen blueberries and ending with the almond milk (or other milk of choice). Blend on high until smooth, adding a splash or two more of almond milk or other liquid as needed for consistency. Enjoy!
