This is one of my most well loved and easy chicken recipes. Boneless skinless chicken thighs are easy to prepare, eat (no need to pick around the bone), and so flavorful.

This dish encompasses Chinese flavors of sesame oil, dark and light soy sauce, and makes for a umami packed chicken dish.

Special Equipment

Cast Iron Pan

Ingredients

1
lb (pound)
boneless skinless chicken thighs
can also use skin-on if preferred
1
teaspoon
kosher salt
1
tablespoon
honey
1
tablespoon
sesame oil
1
tablespoon
light soy sauce
1
teaspoon
dark soy sauce
optional
1
stalk
green onions
optional, for garnish
1
tablespoon
sesame seeds
for garnish

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine honey, sesame oil, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and salt. Toss with the chicken thighs, and let marinate for at least 20 minutes.

Step 2

Preheat oven to 400 F.

Step 3

In a heavy bottomed, oven proof pan, heat 1 tbsp of oil on high heat. Sear the chicken thighs for about 4 minutes, then flip and place in the oven. Cook for 15 minutes at 400 F, top with the sesame seed and green onion garnishes, and serve!
